Kids And Crocs - An Ideal Combination

If there was ever a fashion item ideal for kids, it's Crocs. These molded synthetic clogs and sandals seem as though they were made for little feet.

Here are some examples.

Crocs were originally intended as beach wear. The molded footwear provides support while letting feet breathe. Whose feet need support more than children's do?

Toddler Crocs are adorable. Who can resist the sight of little feet encased in brightly colored clogs and sandals? Crocs can provide extra support as toddlers learn how to navigate on their feet. There are even infant Crocs available that are just as cute.

Kids' Crocs are available in several styles. Disney Crocs let kids show their devotion to favorite characters. Maryjane Crocs add a charming touch to little girl dress-up time. Sandals are great for the beach and the park while traditional clogs can be worn anytime.

Kids' Crocs can be fun to decorate. All kids love stickers: Have them apply their favorite stickers to their clogs or sandals to make them unique. Girls can apply jewel stickers and "Jibitz" charms while boys can draw on their shoes with washable paints and markers. They will be proud of their one-of-a-kind footwear.

Because Crocs were specifically designed to for support, it is not a good idea to buy discount-store knock-off versions. Those types were merely created to be inexpensive footwear. A child's growing feet need adequate support to develop correctly.

No matter what brands of shoes or sandals are bought, it is important that children's shoes fit correctly.

Here are some tips to help in selecting the right size.

1. When trying on shoes, there should be at least a quarter inch between the longest toe and the front of the shoe. Feet should not overhead the back or sides of clogs or sandals.

2. Child podiatrists say children typically outgrow their shoes every six months. Pay attention if a child says a particular pair of shoes is too tight.

3. Watch the child's feet for blisters and redness. These are signs that shoes do not fit correctly.

4. All children's footwear should be softened a bit before wearing. Simply press the heel of a hand against the back of the shoe. This will give the shoe enough flexibility to avoid irritating the child's heel.

5. Many child podiatrists say that shoes should not be handed down to younger siblings. All footwear gradually molds to the foot of the user, so younger siblings could be inheriting the foot problems of older ones

Many school officials advise against wearing Crocs and similar footwear on the playground. Many playgrounds are covered with wood chips that can easily get caught inside clogs and can be very painful. Crocs should also not be worn for physical education classes and organized sports. Check with the school or recreation facility for specific guidelines, but bring along Crocs so their feet have a comfortable place to rest after the game.

Kids love Crocs because they are fun and comfortable. Parents love them because they provide excellent foot support and are slip resistant and anti-microbial. At last, something families can agree on.
